Bio
Lisa Morphew was born in Detroit in 1951. She attended Vermont College BA 1985 and Goddard College MFA , and NYU Film Studies Program. She came toNorth Carolina in 1975 and became A Third Century Artist in Residence for the State Arts Council and was assigned to The Carteret County Arts Council. She received a Photography Fellowshi[p from The NC Arts Council in 1987 and in Poetry in 1989. She has also received a project grant 1990 and Residencies at The Chateau La Napolue, Vermont Studio Center, and VCCA and others. Her work is in the collections of G. Gordon Hanes, The Tropical Fruit and Nuts Collection, The Asheville Museum, Doris Betts and numerous other private and public collections. Her writing has been published in The Arts Journal, The Wild Good (photograph/book), The Asheville Poetry Review, The Orabge Coast Review, Common Lives, and others.
